Marco Benevento Announces National Tour Dates For Fall 2012, New LP

Marco Benevento is hitting the road this autumn with a bevy of tour dates at some crowd-pleasing venues in support of his new LP, "TigerFace," due September 11 from The Royal Potato Family.

Recorded and mixed by Tom Biller (Silversun Pickups, Elliot Smith) and Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony and The Johnsons)," TigerFace" is Benevento’s fourth studio album to date and the first to feature a vocal performance. In a move that represents Benevento’s continuous sonic exploration, the jazz pianist invited Kalmia Traver (Rubblebucket) to lend his pipes on two tracks.

Benevento is no stranger to on-stage and in-studio collaborations and "TigerFace" is no different. The Brooklyn-based jazz visionary called upon musicians like drummers Matt Chamberlain (Brad Mehldau, Bill Frisell), John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea and The Cake) and Andrew Barr (The Barr Brothers); bassists Dave Dreiwitz (Ween), Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green) and Mike Gordon (Phish); violinist Ali Helnwein (Traction Avenue Chamber Orchestra); and saxophonist Stuart Bogie (Antibalas, Superhuman Happiness).
