Brace yourself for some otherworldly new work by Rodrigo y Gabriela! The group released "Area 52," their new album, today, Tuesday, January 24.
Although there is no government conspiracy or cover up behind these works, the album is certainly composed of work you never heard from El Rodri y La Gabi nor anyone else on this planet.
The Mexican duo maintain a firm grasp on their ryhthmic acoustic guitars for this album but chose to back themselves up with a full band. They collaborated with a 13-piece Cuban orchestra, known as the C.U.B.A, for all nine of the album's compositions.
The release comes just shy of a month before Rodri and Gabi take off on their European tour, which begins in Ireland, where it all started for them, before finishing in Switzerland in early March. After a month hiatus, the duo heads into the North American tour starting off in Seattle, WA in April. For more information on the album and tickets, visit their official website.
