Deadheads To Invade Occupy Wall Street In November
- Published on October 24, 2011
- By Julia Rickert

On the night of Furthur's November 10 Madison Square Garden show, 10,000 Deadheads will take over Occupy Wall Street according to a recent Facebook page. The event was created in an attempt to motivate Deadheads and other music lovers to get more involved in politics and the current protest situation going on in New York City and various cities across the globe.
Although there isn't much information on the event page, there have been daily posts and updates from all sorts of news sources like the Huffington Post, OccupyTogether.org and YouTube. So far, only slightly over 1,200 people have "liked" the page.

Gratefulfest 2011 Headlined By Three Nights of DSO
- Published on April 01, 2011
- By AUS10B

The 12th installment of Gratefulfest, taking place each year at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Ohio over the Fourth of July weekend, returns this year with three nights of Dark Star Orchestra, The 7 Walkers featuring former Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann and BoomBox as well as many other Dead influenced acts.
Other acts slated to perform at this intimate festival include Keller Williams, Railroad Earth, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Donna Jean Band featuring Donna Jean Godchaux of the Grateful Dead (and mother of Zion Rock Godchaux who is half of BoomBox), David Gans, Klyph Black and Rumor Has It, Katz-n-Jammers and The Spikedrivers with many more to be announced.
Gratefulfest is perhaps the best kept secret of the festival season in one of the most beautiful locations imaginable. Situated on 250 acres of woods and meadows and resting on a bed of pink quartz, Nelson Ledges is truly a spiritual place, described on its website as a "known magnetic energy vortex."
For those who don't wish to take in String Cheese and heavy electronica at Electric Forest or who aren't interested in eight sets of Phish at Superball IX, Gratefulfest offers a completely affordable amazing time over the Independence Day holiday.
For more information on Gratefulfest 12 check out their website. Ticketing information should be available soon.
