No word on why the festival has been canceled. Re:Generation debuted in 2007 in North Carolina and returned in 2011 after a three-year hiatus. This year, Umphrey's McGee, Ghostland Observatory, Big Gigantic, MiM0SA and Papadosio were set to perform. Last year's festival the livetronica quintet was joined by Bassnectar, The Glitch Mob, Big Gigantic and Lotus.

STS9 is still set to play The Hangout, Electric Forest, High Sierra and Gathering of the Vibes this summer. We'll bring you more details as they're made available.

For those of you who now have a void in your festival calendar, Colorado's Sonic Bloom is a pretty solid alternative.
