Calling itself the “anti-festival,” Equifunk will be back for its fifth year of up-close-and-personal jamming August 17 to 19 in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The first round lineup was announced today, making it clear that the show will stick to its roots of funk-alicious sounds. This year, the collaborative quintet Galactic will fill the airwaves with their New Orleans sounds while Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk will dish out prestigious modern funk.
Newcomers, Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds, a nine-piece powerhouse, will put a modern spin on classic soul while The Main Squeeze's funk experience stays true to the festival name. Be sure to check out the full, first round lineup below.
Fans can expect to jam out to tunes by the water while never missing a set thanks to Equifunk's block scheduling. An environment created by fans, for fans, festivalgoers will bask in the picturesque setting of 75-acre lake taking you back to the nostalgic adolescent days of summer camp.
What’s even better is that all tickets sold will be all-inclusive - featuring either camping or cabin accommodations, meals and all-you-can-drink beer. If you’re a funk fanatic, this festival is for you. A very limited amount - 600 to be exact - of tickets will surely sell out at $175.00 a piece, so hurry and get yours (and more information) via the festival's website now.
