Today, C3 Presents and MCP Presents, the folks that bring you Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza, and Camp Bisco, respectively, announced the creation of another festival dubbed Counter.Point.

Set to take place from September 28 to 29 at the location of 2007′s The Echo Project, Counter.Point will offer on-site camping in addition to an arts village, extreme sports demonstrations, a beer garden featuring local breweries, a food truck component, local chefs and a college football viewing area.

The 350-acre, scenic Chattahoochee river front location where the freshman festival will occur is just 30 minutes south of metropolitan Atlanta.

Full lineup and event information is forthcoming, but it appears that festival organizers are looking to combine camping and the primarily electronic music atmosphere of Camp Bisco with the commercial attraction and wide appeal of Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza (i.e. extreme sports, college football viewing, other bro-tastic attractions).

It could make for an interesting mix, given that Atlanta boasts both an extremely Southern, SEC-driven population as well as a thriving independent electronic music scene and the heads to match.

Expect major names from the EDM scene, along with local and regional jamtronica bands, and perhaps some hip-hop thrown in as well -- after all, it is Hotlanta.
