Insomniac Events founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella announced earlier today via MTV News the initial lineup for the 2012 incarnation of Electric Daisy Carnival, set to take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada from June 8 to 10.
Electronic heavyweights Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Knife Party, Avicii, David Guetta, Benny Benassi and Bassnectar (see complete phase one lineup below) will join an array of other EDM acts at one of the premiere electronic music festivals in the country.
This year, in an attempt to outpace other growing dance music events like ULTRA and Electric Zoo, Rotella is boasting "over 500 theatrical performers, over 30 carnival rides, hundreds of EDM acts, large-scale art installations, tons of special effects, massive production, enough fireworks to rival the Olympics, plus much, much more."
Throw in 300,000 beautiful, smiling people and you've got one hell of a party. Since their move from the Coliseum in downtown Los Angeles to Las Vegas last summer, Insomniac has been steadily increasing the production value of their signature event, improving the quality of the overall experience in an attempt to emerge as the preeminent EDM event in the U.S.
Tickets are available at the Electric Daisy Carnival website, with three-day general admission ticket packages (18+) starting at $275.00 and VIP packages (21+) starting at $500.00. Additionally, there is a shuttle pass available with convenient service running between the Motor Speedway and the Las Vegas Strip for $70.00.
