Entering its 17th year of existence (started in 1996, the summer after Jerry Garcia passed on as a way of keeping Deadheads across the nation together), Gathering of the Vibes is returning to the beaches of the Long Island Sound in Bridgeport, CT with one hell of a lineup.

The foundation of Vibes centers around the Grateful Dead and their culture, which results in appearances by most, if not all of, the remaining living members. This year's headliners include both Phil Lesh and Friends and Bob Weir and Bruce Hornsby with special guest Branfod Marsalis. Both 7 Walkers featuring Bill Kretuzmann and the Mickey Hart Band will also be making appearances, as well as the quintessential Dead cover band, Dark Star Orchestra.

If this modern-day Dead heaven doesn’t have you licking your lips just yet, fret not - Vibes continually adds acts that appeal to a wide variety of fans who will flock to the Bridgeport shores in the dead heat of summer.

Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to witness top-quality talent from a wide array of genres, making GotV all the more enticing. Classic rock, bluegrass, folk, reggae and electronic will all be on display this year. Other notable additions to the lineup include festival headliner PrimusSTS9 (who has not played Vibes since 2000), Zappa Plays Zappa, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Avett Brothers, Steel Pulse, The Greyboy Allstars and Keller Williams.

Things will stay funky and get weird long after the sun has gone down with the Royal Family Ball featuring Lettuce and Soulive as well as Conspirator, Pink Floyd cover band, The Machine, and the newly-created supergroup featuring members of Big Gigantic and Conspirator, the Gigantic Underground Conspiracy set to play this year's late nights.

Weekend passes are available via the festival's website for $185.00 plus taxes and fees with day passes available for just $65.00.

See you on the shore!
