The 11th annual Sasquatch! Music Festival revealed its lineup yesterday evening at their yearly launch party, an event that has become somewhat of a tradition in recent years, not to mention an innovative way to generate considerable buzz around a lineup release at that. However, this year's lineup needs little promotional help with the likes of Jack White, Beck and Bon Iver taking the top three slots.
Set to take place at The Gorge in Washington state over Memorial Day weekend, Sasquatch! consistently sets itself apart from other music and camping festivals by tabbing headlining acts that are not on tour or have few announced dates. Last year saw Modest Mouse, Wilco, and Death from Above 1979 as stand-out acts and the previous year boasted the likes of My Morning Jacket, Pavement, Ween and Massive Attack.
Other notable acts for 2012 include Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, The Roots, Silversun Pickups, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Blitzen Trapper, Blind Pilot, Childish Gambino, Deer Tick, Little Dragon, Starfucker, Gary Clark Jr. and Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires.
Although the festival typically caters to the indie, lo-fi and garage rock scenes, they do an excellent job of attracting top quality electronic music as well. This year is no different with Beats Antique, Apparat, SBTRKT, Tycho, Wolfgang Gartner, Nero and Com Truise all making the trip out to the Northwest.
Festival passes are currently available via the the festival's website so scoop yours today and see ya at the Gorge!
