To enhance the funked-up slate of performers, Royal Family acts Eric Krasno & Chapter 2 and the recently-formed Alan Evans Trio will join the party, as will the Savi Fernandez Band. Additionally, Pee Wee Ellis, Will Bernard, Freekbass, Jonathan Scales and Michelle Sarah have been named Artists at Large.

Bear Creek also released their daily performance schedule. Thursday’s lineup is headlined by Perpetual Groove, with Zach Deputy, Moon Taxi and The Heavy Pets each playing their first of two shows at the festival.

Friday’s schedule includes the first of two Umphrey’s McGee sets, along with performances by Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Lotus, the Budos Band, Dr. Klaw and many others.

Saturday provides the meat of the schedule, including the first of two sets from funk stalwarts Lettuce and the New Mastersounds. The stacked lineup also includes Umphrey’s McGee, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstajam, Zoogma, the Dead Kenny G’s, the Mike Dillon Band, another set from Zach Deputy, a nu-soul set from Wyllys and the NY Hustler Ensemble, and a slew of other Royal Family acts such as Soulive, Break Science, Alan Evans Trio, Eric Krasno & Chapter 2, and Nigel Hall and Alicia Chakour.

Sunday night closes things out with what are sure to be high-energy funk sets from Lettuce, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, the New Mastersounds, George Porter Jr.’s Runnin Pardners and the Grant Green Jr. Band, amongst others.

The full minute-by-minute schedule grid for Bear Creek 2012, which is held at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, will be released in mid-October. Tickets are on sale at Bear Creek’s ticketing website – general admission tickets are $150.00 and VIP tickets start at $275.00, with prices increasing on September 15.
