Pretty Lights Illumination Tour 2012

Pretty Lights has announced his 2012 "Illumination Tour" tour throughout North America. Over the next two months, producer Derek Vincent Smith will be hitting over 30 different cities including New York City's Electric Zoo, Boston on Halloween, Red Rocks and a few stops across the pond in Europe.

Smith is enthused about introducing his new album as well as continuing to create organic, cutting-edge tracks that continually push the envelope for electronic music.

In addition to the tour, a mini-documentary will also be released to share his experience creating the new album. There will be a fan pre-sale, as there has been in the past, which is easily accessible by signing up on Pretty Lights Front Gate Tickets. 

Shows through October 6 will go on pre-sale this Wednesday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. and on sale to the public on Friday, June 29.

There's been a lot of controversy recently regarding DJs as renowned producer Deadmau5 did what he does best and stirred the pot with a Tumblr post that essentially said most "DJs" are just hitting play and that it's really the party and the fans and the experience, not the music that makes each show special.

What do you guys think about Deadmau5' comments? Regardless, these Pretty Lights shows are certain to be spectacles.
