The hits just keep on coming for those lucky enough to have tickets to this year's Hangout Music Festival. Big Gigantic, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, BoomBox, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Perpetual Groove, Zoogma, Nobody Beats the Drum, Delta Rae, The Kingston Springs and Tauk will get the weekend started right on May 17, just one day before the main event.

Additionally, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes have been added to the main bill making this year's festival, once again, the most diverse and top-heavy festival out there. Tickets for The Hangout are sold out through the main website but apparently a small allotment of tickets are still available for purchase through Kaiser Realty for $209.00 plus taxes and fees if you decide to stay in one of their beach-front condos.
Tickets to the pre-party will be available via the festival's website tomorrow Friday March 23, for only $15.00. For full lineup information for The Hangout and all your favorite summer festies check out our 2012 Festival Guide. See ya on the beach!

The 3rd annual Hangout Music Fest has added a slew of new artists to their already stellar 2012 lineup. Joining the eclectic array of musicians will be Kaskade, Umphrey’s McGee, Delta Spirit, Heartless Bastards, Greyboy All Stars and Givers.
Ranging from veteran jam bands to rising indie-rockers, these acts will join previously announced headliners Dave Matthews Band, Jack White, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The String Cheese Incident and STS9. The Hangout will take place on the white-sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama from May 18 to 20.
Now in its third year and growing like a weed, the 2012 Hangout Music Fest sold out of all general admission tickets in less then two weeks. However, the festival is still offering a limited number of VIP, super VIP and Big Kahuna passes, which feature luxury amenities for fans to enjoy the ultimate Hangout experience.

UPDATE: The Hangout Festival Announces Initial Lineup, Red Hot Chili Peppers Added
- Published on February 08, 2012
- By Pants Dance
UPDATE: The Hangout announced on the morning of Feb. 8 that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are the previously hinted at headliner. More acts are expected to be announced in the coming days but four days of fun in the sun with Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, String Cheese Incident, the Flaming Lips and STS9 explain why this fledgling festy won Pollstar's "Festival of the Year" for 2011. With a lineup this strong, it looks like they are ready to defend their title.

The Hangout Beach, Arts and Music Festival had the audacity to keep many of us awake into the wee hours of Monday night with the initial announcement of their 2012 lineup, and they did so with plenty of their own flavor.
The Hangout unveiled the lineup by way of a previously announced "live event," via their Facebook, starting at midnight. As the clock struck 12:00, the first chapter in their storybook approach began as page after page of YouTube clips appeared, followed by photos featuring the names of performers.
This unique approach to an old process made for an eventful night for those wondering who would stand alongside Jack White, the only previously announced headliner. Dave Matthews Band, String Cheese Incident (2 sets), Wilco, STS9, Skrillex and the Flaming Lips (performing Dark Side of the Moon) took the top spots on the bill, but as was the case with last year's lineup, The Hangout came on strong with under-card artists.

The Hangout's lineup tends to be varied in order to guarantee at least one phenomenal performance for everyone over the three-day beach party. And it seems this year will be just as diverse with the likes of Dispatch, Steve Winwood, Chris Cornell, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Flogging Molly, Tribal Seeds, Paul Oakenfold, G. Love and Special Sauce, The Lumineers, Alabama Shakes, Shpongle, Dr. Dog, M.Ward, Paper Diamond, Archnemesis, Rebelution and Randy Newman all playing together on the same grounds.
Although Hangout is still in its infancy heading into year three, this May 18 to 20 down on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama should be even better. Peep Headstash Magazine's review of last year's Hangout last year for insight into the unique festival.
The final message posted stated that one more headliner as well as additional artists would be announced this week, so stay tuned for updates and visit their official website for ticketing and travel information.
See you on the beach!
